GlobalStar Travel Management has named WIN Hotel Programme
as its preferred consortium beginning Jan. 1. WIN's content will complement
GlobalStar's own hotel portfolio. The deal will enable GlobalStar Partners to
access WIN's inventory of more than 30,000 properties globally, as well as MICE
inventory and WIN's Lifetsyle Collection of properties. The WIN content will be
available to partners via all major GDSs, as well as through a booking portal
as part of GlobalStar's HotelStar solution. Under the current deal, the WIN
agency network members do not appear to have access to the GlobalStar hotel
portfolio. Even so, both global networks are looking at the strength of their
combined booking power, which they claimed will "deliver in excess of 5
million room nights booked through the GDS annually, into 2018 and beyond."
